			A Recreational and Quality-of-Life Opportunity for Montanans Missoula is a growing and diverse community with many unique amenities that attract people and businesses. The addition of North America’s largest ski resort to a medium-sized university town creates an attractive community without rival. Missoula would offer prospective businesses both the advantages of a medium-sized city, as well as the attractions normally held by exclusive resort communities like Whitefish or Ketchum.
		Bitterroot Resort at a Glance Maclay Ranch: 2,960 acres Drive Time to Missoula Airport: 30 minutes Distance to Downtown Missoula: 15 miles Vertical Descent: 5,342 feet (This is the total potential vertical descent at Bitterroot Resort, more than any other North American ski resort.) Comparative lift-served vertical descent available at other destination resorts include, in feet: Whistler/Blackcomb - 5,280 Aspen/Snowmass - 4,406 Big Sky - 4,180 Jackson Hole - 4,139 Sun Valley - 3,400 Big Mountain - 2,500 Mid-mountain Nordic Skiing. We propose development of a cross-country ski trail system at 6,000 feet, traversing onto Mormon Ridge.
